Dear Friends in Christ,

It is beautiful this year that the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord falls on Sunday so that we can celebrate together the joy of Mary and Joseph as they bring their newborn child to the temple.  They set a good example for all parents who desire and are committed to ensuring that the next generation develops a personal and intimate relationship with God.

Last weekend I spoke at all of the Masses regarding Stewardship of Finance.  Thank you for your attention and interest as we grow together in Stewardship As A Way of Life.  Please remember that our financial contributions are part of three areas:

  • Weekly Offertory:  providing for the Operating Expenses of the parish community as we embrace Our Mission as disciples.  Please complete your Stewardship of Finance intention for  2014 and return as soon as possible.  This information assists us in our budget planning process.
  • Our Catholic Appeal:  providing for the mission and operations of the Diocese of Orlando.  We will speak more about this on the weekend of February 15-16.
  • Capital Improvements:  providing the resources necessary to make the replacements and improvements required to ensure that our campus and buildings are properly maintained and functional.  A Stewardship of Facilities collection will begin this summer.

I appreciate your continued generosity and your willingness to take a Step In Faith in sacrificial giving.  If you have any questions about Stewardship of Finance, please do not hesitate to ask.

I hope that you have a blessed week and are enlightened in your faith journey.  When you come before the Lord, please whisper my name (and the names of the other Priests and Religious Sisters who staff our parish).  Know that we will pray for you, your intentions and your loved ones.  We may not see one another each day but may we meet each day in our prayers!

In Christ,

Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes, V.F.
