Dear Friends in Christ,

As students, teachers and administrators continue to return to school for a new academic year, please join me in praying for safety on our roads.  A new school year also brings new beginnings, new friendships and new opportunities to expand the gift of wisdom.  I hope that this will be a blessed year for all involved in the field of education.  As our university students return to classes in the coming weeks, I pray for your safe travel and also that you be inspired to live your faith each day on campus!

Our 2012 Fall Festival Leadership Team is busy planning for this year’s celebration on the weekend of October 12-13-14.  As always the Annual Fall Festival (rain or shine!) is a delightful community event.  Please mark your calendar and plan on attending or helping out in some way.  The Annual Fall Festival is a great opportunity for us to live and promote Our Mission (to know, love and serve God by loving and serving others) as the proceeds are used to assist local charities and benefits those in need.

Thank you for your support and prayers and for all you do to make our parish a special place.  When you come before the Lord each day, please whisper my name (and the names the Priests and Religious Sisters who staff our parish) to the Almighty.  Know that we will pray for you, your loved ones and your intentions.  We may not see each other each day but may we meet each day in our prayers!

In Christ,
Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes, V.F.
Pastor

P.S.  A few weeks ago, my brother, Bishop Gregory Parkes from the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, joined us for the 10am Mass (see photo).  It was a blessed visit!
