Dear Friends in Christ,

Thank you very much for your attention to and support of the presentation last weekend for our Sister Diocese in the Dominican Republic.  Through you generosity we were able to collect $14,917.  Your prayers for our brothers and sisters in the Dominican Republic are also greatly appreciated.  If you would like more information about the Mission Office for the Diocese of Orlando, please visit www.orlandodiocese.org/mission-home.

This past week we began a new year of Faith Formation for Children and Youth.  The Early Childhood program is held in the Child Care Center on Sunday during the 10am Mass.  The Elementary and Middle School program take place on Monday (6:15pm), Tuesday (5:30pm) and Wednesday (4:30pm) at Annunciation Catholic Academy.  This is the first year that we are using our parish school for Faith Formation for Children and Youth.  Previously held in the Life Center, the school offers a wonderful atmosphere for formation in our Catholic faith and is also set up logistically to accommodate a large number of people.  I am especially grateful to all parents and families for your patience as we adapt to our new location.

The Faithful Citizenship gathering last Monday was well attended.  Thank you to all who took the time to be informed.  One of the speakers indicated that it was the largest attendance she has seen at one of these gatherings… and she has traveled the country speaking in various places.  As we approach the election, please take time to know the issues, inform your conscience, and exercise the privilege of voting.

The 2012 Fall Festival is coming quickly during the weekend of October 12-13-14!  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate our beautiful community of Annunciation Catholic Church and assist local charities as well.  I hope that you will plan on attending the 2012 Fall Festival and enjoy great fun, food and fellowship.  Assistance is still needed in many areas…. please visit our website (annunciationorlando.org) and click on Fall Festival to find out how you can help.

When you come before the Lord this week please whisper my name to the Almighty.  Know that I will pray for you, your loved ones and your intentions.  Even though we may not see each other each day, may we meet each day in our prayers!

In Christ,
Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes
Pastor
