Dear Friends in Christ,

Thank you for your generosity this weekend to the Food Outreach.  As the weather is getting cooler and the holidays are fast approaching, we receive more requests for food and financial assistance.  Our Food Outreach assists our local needs as well as our community partners and schools.  This weekend you are invited to bring your donation to the sanctuary as an offering of stewardship and thanksgiving.

I am also pleased that we are able to host the first class relic of St. John Paul II this Sunday.  The presence of the relic is a blessing for our parish family.  As you venerate the relic, it is appropriate to bring an intention asking for St. John Paul II’s help.  Through the intercession of St. John Paul II may we grow each day to be witnesses of hope!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching.  I hope that you will consider joining us on the night before Thanksgiving for the Ecumenical Service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church on 434.  Further details are included below.

When you come before the Lord this week, please whisper my name to the Almighty.  Know that I will remember you, your family and your intentions in my prayers.  We may not see each other each day but may we meet each day in our prayers.

In Christ,

Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes, V.F.
Pastor
