Voice of the Poor
Voice of the Poor seeks to uphold Catholic social teaching by advocating issues relating to the conditions of the poor. While charity provides temporary alleviation of pain and suffering, it is not enough. We call for the identification and elimination of the cause of the need in the first place. Through prayer and action we can be effective. We can make a difference if we are organized, work together, and are clear about what is needed. This will be especially important in 2014 since it is an election year at the national, state and local levels. Consider answering the call to serve the poor by joining our Voice of the Poor Committee. Capwiz™ is a SVDP online tool that allows quick and easy communications of issues important to the society. When an “Action Alert” is received by email, you simply respond and the message is routed directly to your elected officials in Washington, DC.
