Pastor’s Message July 27 2014

Dear Friends in Christ,

In just a few weeks students, teachers and administrators will be returning to school to begin a new academic year.  I hope that these days before will be filled with good memories of summer 2014!

Thank you for your attention to the Food Drive this weekend.  Your generosity helps to fill the shelves of our local on-campus pantry and allows us to assist local schools and community partners.  If you were unable to bring something this weekend, please feel free to stop by the Parish Office during the week so that we can accept your donation.

As we look to the Fall there are some new ministries, groups and programs that will be starting.  Are you looking for a way to connect within our parish?  I would also like to extend an invitation to you to consider serving as a Catechist for Faith Formation for Children and Youth.  You do not have to be a theologian or have a child attending… you just have to have a heart that is willing to serve.  The Elementary sessions are on Wednesday afternoon and the Middle School sessions are on Sunday afternoons.  If you are interested in learning more please contact the Parish Office (407-869-9472) and you will be connected with Lois Wirth, Manager of Faith Formation for Children and Youth.  I am confident that your contribution will be a wonderful witness and example to our children!

When you come before the Lord this week, please whisper my name to the Almighty.  Know that I will pray for you, your families and your intentions.
We may not see each other each day but may we meet each day in our prayers!

In Christ,

Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes, V.F.
