Dear Friends in Christ,

Every year in September we host a speaker to provide us with an update on our Sister Diocese in the Dominican Republic.  This year we are pleased and privileged that
Fr. Fred Ruse is with us at all Masses this weekend.  Fr. Ruse is a Priest of the Diocese of Orlando and has served in various leadership roles in parishes.  He has spent the last few years serving in the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana, helping to oversee the work and partnership between our Diocese and our Sister Diocese.  Thank you for giving Fr. Ruse a warm Annunciation welcome this weekend and also for your generosity to help assist with current needs.

We should all be looking forward with great anticipation this week as Pope Francis arrives in the United States.  I am sure that his activities and message will be communicated through various media outlets.  The USCCB is a great source for complete coverage of his visit: www.usccb.org.  Please pray for his safe travel and for his ministry as the Vicar of Jesus Christ in our world!

When you come before the Lord this week, please remember to pray for me and for the Priests and Religious Sisters who selflessly serve our parish.  Know that we will remember you, your loved ones and your intentions in our prayers.  We may not see each other each day but may we meet each day in our prayers!

In Christ,

Very Rev. Stephen D. Parkes, V.F.
Pastor
