The Diocese of Orlando Office of Faith Formation is presenting the 15th annual Faith Formation Day, for catechists and other ministers of parishes and schools. The event is Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando.

The theme for this year is “Living Faith Throughout a Lifetime.” The event provides catechists with the resources and knowledge needed to form Catholics in their faith, regardless of age.

Bishop John Noonan invites those involved in ministry and faith formation to attend and participate in Faith Formation Day. Bishop Noonan will give the keynote address, and will discuss the mission of the Church, evangelization and the Year of Faith, which begins Oct. 11. Those invited to attend Faith Formation Day include: Catechists, Catholic School Teachers, Principals, DREs, Catechumenate, Directors, Youth Ministers, Clergy, Catechists in the Catechumenate, Sponsors and Godparents, Musicians, Seminarians, Liturgists, Pastoral Associates, Peer Ministers, Small Group Leaders, Campus Ministers, and Young Adult leaders, as well as those who think they might be someday.

There are more than 30 workshops that are scheduled, some of which are in Spanish. Each workshop is expected to last about an hour. The workshop topics include promoting a culture of spirituality; tools for evangelization; Bible basics; and how to engage children and youths with their faith, despite today’s distractions in society. Members of several other diocesan offices – including Family Life, Pastoral Care, Evangelization and Advocacy & Justice – will lead workshops and participate in the day’s activities.

The cost of Faith Formation Day is $30 per person, and includes continental breakfast and lunch. To register, contact Sr. Rachel at 407-869-9472 or by email.  The deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 7.
